Poland 2026

Image
Two years in the making. James set on this long journey two years ago to get his dual-citizenship in Poland . He has done a deep dive into our ancestry and I can hardly believe the depth of his research. I can hardly believe all the details about our family that I never knew. Even where my parents eloped to!   Dozens of documents later he decided to travel to Poland to hand deliver all these to his Polish attorney .  Once he announced his travel I decided to volunteer to go.  He wanted to go in February (and it has been a brutal winter) and I am sure glad we waited until March.  Cioci Jean also decided to go and then we added Barbara Chubbuck to round out the team.  We left on Monday March 16 from Logan.  We just missed the big wind storm which knocked out power at home.  It was a long overnight flight to Munich with a few hour layover.  Barbara was escorted separately to the plane so she would be able to walk less.  There was a huge delay on...

Ginky's First Big Trip

This is about Ginky's first adventure. His first big trip. When I look back I have no idea I decided to take this little baby on a long trip Connecticut to California.  Jamie had an ear infection and cried the whole trip from Hartford to Chicago. Once we got there, we thought we would turn around and go back because it was a disaster on the plane. Here are my notes from that trip and what great memories and pictures, taking that little baby on a trip to California until Lake Tahoe. Jamie got to the room, and Dad went down to the strip joint area to an all-night restaurant that came back with fries and a chili dog. After eating, we went to bed at about 5:00 a.m. Home time. The date is August 20th, 1985, so James is about a year and a half old. We wake up, and Mom goes to Wendy's and brings us back some breakfast. We get in the car and drive over the Golden Gate Bridge by mistake, and then we drive through the Presidio by some mansions in the Sea Cliff area, down by Seal R...

Wed August 12, 1993 This morning we woke up and watched the rest of the movie.  We walked down to the beach and found a small dead shark.  Then we ate lunch.  We got a movie to watch.  We watched the Flash and Dad fell asleep on the couch. Uncle Dave went to a birthday party and we went to bed. Thur August 13, 1993 We had breakfast and then went on a canoe ride.  It was canceled.  Cioci Jean made a delicious supper for us and we went to another place for a canu ride. When we were done Uncle Dave lost the car keys. A police officer took us back.  We waited for a phone call so we can get Uncle Daves's car.  we ate lunch and it was g...
